Oddly enough, this is not the first vampire and nukes book I've read this year. The other one focused more on what would happen after a nuclear fallout (in that book they wanted a nuclear winter because they were vulnerable to UV rays) but they also wanted a food supply so there were plans in place to deal with that. Maberry doesn't really focus much on the vampire food supply issue.
I'm very curious what random creature Echo will be fighting next.
Otherwise, the things I like about the series are still there. Joe kills but not without cost and (usually) not mindlessly. I like Ghost but I miss Cobbler.
Violin is an interesting character. I hope to see more of her.
