It was interesting for the most part but started to fall apart at the end.
I just started getting into photography so I was interested in the bits about that. I'm not entirely sure I understand the point of using a mono/tripod on a ship deck. If the ground is moving won't that blur your image anyway?
I also liked the parts with Ollie, although I'm not sure scientists would really have approved with interfering with the natural order.

But having to go through life without touching ice/snow and being cold blooded? So they move to Florida where pretty much everywhere has the air conditioner running full blast.
(And Tacoma is snowy/sleety? Maybe every couple years).
I'm also really not wild about the relationship in the first place. I liked Karen much better, though I imagine that relationship would be pretty strange.
But he goes from a really adventurous woman who would probably be offended by the notion that she needs to be protected from the world to a woman who literally needs 24/7 protection from the world? Even leaving the elements aside, there's an entire world she has no real frame of reference for. Sure, she can learn, but it's going to take time. Not to mention that she literally appeared from nowhere and it's harder than ever to live off the grid.
Plus, Kristen, who he's been with for three years, has only been gone a few months. So I wouldn't trust falling in love with someone else so soon.
