This was an enjoyable book, though it had its share of sad moments. It's almost as much about small town life and running a library in a small town as it is about Dewey.
It was interesting to read about the tension between the leaders of the town and the library. I was also surprised by how many DVDs and video games the library has, my local library has received the occasional criticism about the amount of DVDs it has. The board meeting at the end is just incredible.
Dewey sounds like a pretty incredible cat. There were lots of cute stories. I wouldn't rank it up there with [author:Cleveland Amory]'s trilogy about Polar Bear or [author:Peter Gethers]' trilogy about Norton, but it was still an enjoyable read.
